Alerts the moment something changes
Arrivals and departures, plus problems spotted automatically: a lost signal, a vessel aground or not under command, a position that jumps. Get them as push notifications, by email or by webhook.
Live AIS fleet tracking
VesselWatch puts every vessel you follow on one live map — grouped, colour-coded and watched around the clock — and tells you the moment one arrives, leaves or goes quiet.
What it does
From one ship to hundreds, across one coast or every ocean. VesselWatch collects the positions, sorts the fleet the way you think about it, and only interrupts you when something changes.
Arrivals and departures, plus problems spotted automatically: a lost signal, a vessel aground or not under command, a position that jumps. Get them as push notifications, by email or by webhook.
Draw areas around ports, fields and anchorages. See which vessels are inside right now, and get told when one enters or leaves — for tracked vessels, chosen groups or vessels, or a tag.
Speed, course and status for every vessel, and how much of the fleet has a fresh position.
Organise the fleet the way you work, then filter the map and lists down to what matters now.
Pick some groups and share them read-only with a 12-digit code. Stop sharing whenever you like.
Follow where a vessel has been, coloured by its speed.
Wind, waves and currents from MET Norway and Open-Meteo.
Identity, photo and particulars alongside every position.
Bring a whole fleet in at once, and keep it in step later.
Invite colleagues to one shared fleet, with roles and seats.
Its own icon and window on Android, iPhone, iPad and desktop.
How it works
Search by name, paste an IMO, MMSI or MarineTraffic link, or import the whole fleet from a file. Sort vessels into groups, each with its own colour.
Positions come from BarentsWatch AIS where Norway’s coverage reaches, and from Marinesia everywhere else. Tracked vessels update every minute; the rest of the fleet keeps updating in the background.
Set geofences around the places you care about. Arrivals, departures and problems reach you on your phone, by email or through a webhook, and stay in the fleet’s alert log.
Data you can trust
A dot on a map is only useful if you know where it came from and how old it is. Every position in VesselWatch keeps its source and the time the vessel actually reported it — separate from when we checked.
Under way and silent for 12 hours? The vessel is flagged as signal lost, not left looking fine.
About us
VesselWatch began as a private dashboard for following a mixed offshore fleet — supply ships, subsea and survey vessels, rigs and tankers — along the Norwegian coast and further afield. Public tracking sites showed one ship at a time, often with old positions, and no way to group them or be told when something changed. So we built something that does.
Today VesselWatch is a small, independent product made in Norway, shaped by the people who use it to look after their vessels every day.
We would rather show you nothing than show you a guess. Accuracy comes before appearances.
Fleets are private to your account or company. When you share, you choose the groups — your notes, alerts and contact details stay with you.
For operations rooms, owners and agents who need to know where a ship is and when it moves — on a wall screen, a laptop or a phone.
Open the dashboard to see your vessels, or create an account to start a fleet of your own.
